Alabama Volunteer Corps Waist Belt & Plate
Immeasurably rare Alabama Volunteer Corps Waist Belt Plate. The Alabama Corps combined a number of existing independent companies and new enrollees into a state-wide Militia Organization of approximately 8000 officers and men. Many were issued the AVC state uniform which included AVC buttons and this style of marked AVC plate. The Alabama Volunteer Corps was disbanded in November 1861 after most of its members entered Confederate service. CS Acquisitions Museum.
